The incident took place around 7:40 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18, when the car traveling eastbound on Yonkers Avenue struck the man who allegedly stepped onto the roadway, said Yonkers Police Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos.
The man was reportedly struck by a woman, who police say is in her 50s.
Traffic was shut down in the area for about two hours following the incident.
Politopoulos said the driver remained on the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
